Three Poems

I FEEL LIKE

An old vampire
In the middle of
War
Still made to feel like
A child

By the snow

SPRING 2

Everyone shivering in their
Leather jackets
Eating sandwiches named after
Serial killers

And in the middle of
All of it
Magnolia trees
Enough to make you
Stop and say

Fuck!

Super tenderly.

I WOULD LOVE TO

I would love to be
Old and
Beloved
Freely like water
A joyous elder
High up where I see
The start and

The end
Of the silver
Mountain

I’d love to be
Your daughter
Someone for whom
You would do
Any thing in any
Weather
A baby braid
On the rafter
Snow flower
Coming back

It’s ok
To grow out
Of the snow
For a season
Lovers rush
Through life like
Mountain fires
I’d love to just call you
Friend and
Hang forever
