moving to California haiku

so much of this state
has burnt down since we got here
fourteen days ago

 

 

orchard haiku

walking on the path
the birds peel off from where they
were sitting so fast

 

 

physical labor haiku

not as good at it
as I thought I was, I smoke
then go back to it

 

 

chopping wood haiku

when I chop a piece
I play the trap rap air horn
loudly from youtube

 

 

wheelbarrows of wood haiku

moving wood up hill
is exhausting… next year lets
maybe chop up here

 

 

dog at beach haiku

we run with seaweed
and grace chases it, you say
wow, she loves the weed
